Enjoy a part of your college life in the lovely European country of Sweden. Karolinska Institutet offers a handful of tuition fees grants for outstanding students who have been accepted to one of their Global Master’s Programmes beginning each autumn semester.

Karolinska Institutet

The Karolinska Institute, situated in the Stockholm metropolitan region of Sweden, is a research-led medical university in Solna. It has multiple study options to offer such as, among others, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacology, pathology, anatomy, physiology and medical microbiology. It is the best university in Sweden as well as one of the largest in the world. It is ranked highest in the whole of Scandinavia.

Eligibility Criteria

The student fulfils the following eligibility criteria

  • Candidate applies for the full-time master degree program in Karolinska Institute
  • Applicants must have a strong academic record.
  • Have joined to one of Karolinska Institutet’s Global Master’s Programmes starting 2021
  • Be a tuition fee-paying student (from outside the EU/EEA)
  • Only first-year students are eligible to apply.

Why Study at the Karolinska Institutet?

In Sweden, the Karolinska Institute provides the widest variety of medical education under one roof. Medical training or other training within the healthcare system are part of many initiatives. Institute provides a various course to their students. Approximately 6,000 full-time students are taking education in this institute.

Benefits of the Programs

The global master’s scholarship programs amount varies from year to year based on your academic report.  A maximum of 10 studentships per year is allocated to all Global Master’s Programs. With approximately 1500 foreign students applying for a scholarship annually, the competition is fierce.

The KI Global Master’s Scholarship covers only the tuition fee (or part of the tuition fee only partly paid by the Karolinska Institutet for programmes). Other financing needs to be met with travel, living expenses and other costs. Also, please note that the KI Global Master’s Scholarship only covers the tuition fee for students participating in the Karolinska Institutet Global Master’s Program and can not be used for other studies.

How to Apply for the Scholarship?

Step 1: Apply for Admission

To be considered for the award, there is no separate submission form required to submit. A student must take admission in the university, then he or she is eligible for this scholarship.

Invitations to apply for the award are sent by email (7 February)  to the email address you have used to make your account at universityadmissions.se.

  • Transcripts from prior school (If requested)
  • Post-Secondary transcription
  • Official survey results
  • Start/Course vitae
  • Personal statement

Entry Requirements

  • Students must hold a high school certificate or equivalent diploma
  • Student Must hold the last exam mark sheet
  • Provide evidence of English Language proficiency
  • Fulfil the entry and documentation supplies for the programme you have applied for

Visa Requirements

You are required to urge hold of a visa to review within Sweden. The relevant Sweden consulate provides a permit. Visa laws change sometimes, and consulate and embassy procedures can vary. The same document to need to apply for a student visa.
